Telephone systems on test
Over recent weeks, two telephone systems have been on test in operation with DvISE in the Tobit Testing Lab. DvISE is the server platform on which David, FaxWare & Co. are based.
The AGFEO AS 40 P and TENOVIS Integral 3 telephone systems were tested.
AGFEO AS 40 P
The Agfeo telephone system was provided for testing with 1 S0 module 420 (2x S0 internal/external), 2 S0 module 440s (4x S0 internal) and 1 T-module 407 (7x a/b).
The system's Mainprogram version was 3.5. The connections to external S0s may be either point to point or point to multipoint.
Internally only point to multipoint connections are available.
The ISDN protocol used is DSS1. The test was carried out with DvISE Fax send/receive, Faxplus send/receive, VoiceMail, TMail, SMS over ISDN, DTMF functionality and ECT.
Setting up the system and configuring the ISDN cards presented no difficulties. After assigning numbers to the system extensions and a standard port setup of an ISDN card under DvISE, the basic fax and voice functions were on line.
TENOVIS Integral 3
The TENOVIS system was provided with the U4S (4x S o external), S4S (4xS
o internal) and S4A (4x a/b) modules. The system software release tested was RE6024DE. In this system, too, the external S0 connection can be either point to point or point to multipoint. Internally only point to multipoint connections are available. The ISDN protocol used was DDS1.
The test was carried out in this case too with DvISE Fax send/receive, Faxplus send/receive, VoiceMail, TMail, SMS over ISDN, DTMF functionality and ECT.
Setting up the system is somewhat more complicated than the Agfeo, because of the variety of setting options and functions for operation of the system. Configuration for "normal" operation presented no major problem, however.
The tests on both systems in operation with DvISE were passed successfully.
All the services specified for the systems could be operated without problem.
Tobit dBoard2, Tobit dBoard4, Eicon Diva Server BRI 2M and DIGI DataFire Basic PCI ISDN cards were used in the tests. More information on tested hardware is available in the Service/Support/Knowledge-base area at www.tobit.com.
